I Am Number Four, by Pittacus Lore

The book I Am Number Four, by Pittacus Lore, is about a boy from a planet called Lorien. He never stays in one place for long and he is always hiding. He lives on Earth, he looks like and blends easily in with humans, and is constantly escaping the Mogadorians, who are set out to kill him and others of his kind in numbered order from one to nine. He is the fourth on their list, and the third one was just killed. He is in more danger than he ever was before. He has to do everything in his power to save himself.

I really enjoyed reading the book I Am Number Four because I don't usually read books with a lot of action or anything at all that is similar to this. It was a nice change, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book was exciting and very interesting. I could not take my eyes off of it. I kept on wanting to know what will happen next. There were surprises around every corner! I would definitely recommend this book to all readers, I guarantee that anyone who reads this book will enjoy it as much as I did! I can't wait to read the sequel!

The Mogadoraians attacked a planet called Lorein. The Garde was a group of nine people that were the protectors of Lorien. unfortunately , the Garde members were only children and they had to escape their planet with their guardians. The Garde develop their powers or legacies in the teenage years. John Smith was a Garde member that was sent to Earth to be protected. As John grew while being protected by Henri(a guardian of the Garde members), he was never safe so he had to keep moving, so John didn't have a normal life. John moved to a neighborhood that had a high school nearby. There he met his future girlfriend, Sarah Hart, and met his rival Mark, Sarah's ex-boyfriend. All sorts of events happen while John is at school, and Sarah soon realizes that he is not human. Sarah was developing a picture at school and John went over to see her, but they were attacked by Mogadorian's. Henri came over with Number Six and Mark to help fight back. What happens to these teens?

I Am Number Four, by Pittacus Lore was a typical science-fiction and romance novel. All the chapters were predictable, but it was still a good story. To me, there was too much romance in this book and barely any action. I feel like that the book was made for people who wanted a little romance in their life than action. Overall the book was okay. It had a lot more potential to be a great book. I would recommend this book to people who don't have anything else to read so I think that this book would be a last resort to me.

After their home planet was destroyed for its resources by the Mogadorians, a race of evil aliens, nine children from the planet Loren managed to escape. They managed, with their protectors, to get to Earth where they are planning to hide until their powers are strong enough to save their planet. The Mogadorians are killing the children in order and are now looking for Number Four. John Smith, Number Four, arrives in a small town with his guardian. Not long after he arrives, the Mogadorians turn up too. The first three children are dead and now they are after John!

This book is a great adventure story. It’s a very easy book to follow. Anyone who loves science fiction or alien conspiracy stories will love this. There are other books in this series that tells the stories of the other Lorien children and I hope that they are good as this one. I definitely recommend this.

John Smith is on the move again. Well, that's his new name. Whenever he and his guardian Henri have moved to a new place like Minnesota, Colorado, or Florida, they've chosen a new name for him and started a new life. With each move, any friends "John" had made there had to be erased from his life. I write "John" in quotation marks because he is not even human, and neither is Henri. They are being hunted by an evil race of aliens - the Mogadorians - who nearly destroyed their home planet, Lorien. "John" was one of the nine children who were chosen to be sent to Earth to hopefully start a new life and a new beginning for their race. So far, three of them have been killed. On the last days of Lorien, they were each assigned numbers 1-9 and a charm was placed on them so that they could only be killed in the order of their numbers. "John" is Number Four. He is next in line. Only time will tell what is coming his way….

Overall, I very much enjoyed this book. I don't usually read books that are as long as this one (about 450 pages), but once I started, I couldn't put the book down. I am not kidding when I tell you I finished it in two days. The plot is very interesting and includes many twists and turns. I liked how there was more to the story than just John's survival and him unlocking his Legacies, or powers. John makes new friends and enemies, and he also finds a girlfriend, Sarah. He grows attached to her and his friends and really wants to tell them the truth about who he is, but is not sure if he can trust them. That's another thing I liked about the story. At least for me, it made me empathize with John. Even though he's not human, to an extent I understood the position he was in. He badly wanted to stay in one place for a long time and live a normal live without being chased down by evil aliens. Whenever he made new friends, he likely wouldn't keep them for very long, and it was completely out of his control. He wished he could tell them about his true identity, but if he did Henri would decide to relocate again. This book made me feel many different emotions, some of them being sorrow, anger, joy, happiness, and angst. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading.
