A Clockwork Orange, by Anthony Burgess

This story, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, is written in a nightmarish version of the future, in which criminals take over. The central character is 15 year old Alex. He's already a hardened criminal. After he's thrown in prison, a new procedure is tried on him which he is completely stripped of his criminal instincts. This leads to a disastrous chain of events. This book is good for science-fiction lovers and people who like action. However, there are some very graphic scenes, so it's not for everyone.
-Reviewed by Jackie, grade 9.
