City of Bones, by Cassandra Clare

In City of Bones the first book in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare it is a boy meets girl story with a twist when the beautiful Jace meets Clary. When they meet Clary has just witnessed a murder. All of a sudden soon after Clary is in a completely different world with different people including Jace. Her mother is missing and she was a attacked by a demon and has no idea why she is a normal teenage girl. Or is that only what she thought?

I really enjoyed this book because of the magically amazing story this is. I think it can really be enjoyed by many teenagers and adults. This book contains fantasy, guy drama, and adventure. It will make you hold your breath and wish you were in the story.

Clary Fray is a perfectly normal person. Until she witnesses a murder, has her mother kidnapped, learns of the demon-slaying Shadowhunters, begins to see Downworlders (a.k.a. werewolves and vampires), and meets good-looking Jace. Clary is pulled into a world of heaven and hell, of saving the world or watching it die, of stepping willingfully into this new demon-filled world or to try to cling to the dangerous world she came from. Clary must face the evil rogue Shadowhunter Valentine if she is to save her mother, keep Downworlders and Shadowhunters in check, and save the rest of the world. And that's putting it simply.

"City of Bones," the first book in the series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, was (to put it in simplest terms) one of the best books I ever read. It was dark, suspenseful, and scary, while at the same time realistic, funny, and relatable. I think one of the things that made it particularly interesting was the somewhat untouched topic of angels in this magic-filled literate world (the books about vampires, wizards, etc.). The best part was how Cassandra Clare intertwined everyday life with the magical, dark world. The characters and plot were detailed and developed. Although the book was very thick, the way the author wrote it was so entertaining that I ate it up in a few days. It was that amazing! One of the best magical/paranormal series out there, hands down.

In the City of Bones, by Cassandra Clare, Clary is just an average New York teenager with passion for drawing. Then one night when she and her best friend Simon are a club, called Pandemonium, she meets Jace, Alec, and Isabelle. Clary learns that they're Shadowhunters, demon killers. When her mom is kidnapped and their apartment ransacked Clary finds refuge with them at the Institute. There Clary learns that she's not average at all, she's a Shadowhunter too. The story follows Clary and her new found friends as she searches for her mother and begins to learn about the Shadow world.

The Mortal Instruments is my favorite series ever. This spectacular first book in the series definitely got me hooked. The City of Bones is amazing because it combines all the best aspects of fiction, action, romance, mystery, fantasy, and best of all, magic. Anyone who reads this book will fall in love with Clary, Jace, and their amazing world. I think The City of Bones would be most loved by people that like complex, interesting stories with lots of action, magic, and romance.

Clary Fray is just out for a good time in one of her favorite clubs in New York when she witnesses a murder committed by three odd looking teenagers. Three odd looking teenagers that her best friend, Simon, seems incapable of seeing. Turns out that Clary has the Sight, the ability to see the supernatural, and something her mother had blocked in her mind in order to keep her away from what is known as the world of Shadowhunters. But her mother cannot give to her the answers she is seeking, as she goes missing along with something called the Mortal Cup. Jace Wayland, one of the shadowhunters of the New York Institute, takes is upon himself to help her and romantic feelings begin to grow between the two. Join Clary as she embarks on a journey to unravel her past, find her mother, and return the mortal cup in this thrilling tale.

This is the first in a three part series, and is a refreshing read in many ways. It casts teenagers as its leads and isn't set in a high school, shadowhunters are a new supernatural concept that readers will have never heard off and the characters are diverse and well written. Romance is a small aspect of the book, which goes into an unexpected turn that will leave readers waiting for the next book. Overall, I would recommend this to someone looking for something new to read.

Clary, a young woman, possesses powers that allow her to see demons, vampires, ghouls, and other monsters. She discovers this after moving to the country, where someone she knows tells her that she is special. One day, she answers a call from her mother, who tells her that she should not come home and gives her a message to tell Luke. Clary goes to her house anyways and finds a demon, that she kills. In her neighbor's house, she finds a portal. She steps through the portal, and her adventure begins.

This book was average. While the plot was interesting, it was still very generic, and I already knew the ending when I was just beginning to read the book. Even though its generic, it was still interesting to read. It was really an average novel. It had a regular plot, regular characters, regular everything. If you are stuck with nothing to read and some time to kill, you could try reading this book, but that is really the one situation where you should read it.

The last thing Clary Fray anticipated on her birthday was to get pulled into a world of Shadowhunters, the warriors with the blood of angels running through their veins who devote their lives to cleansing the world of demons. But every thing she knew changes when she meets the alluring gold- eyed Jace. Not soon after when her mother is taken, Clary is attacked by a demon and she has no choice but to uncover the unseen world of Demons and Angels.

This book would have to be one of my favorite stories of all time. The characters and the world of Shadowhunters is beautifully written. This book made me feel like I was living the story along with the characters and it made me feel everything the characters did. I recommend this book to people who love to read about romance, action, adventure and dystopian. I also think people of all ages will love this story because who wouldn't want to read a book about Shadowhunters?

This book is basically about a girl who is revealed to a whole new world that she's never known she's been apart of. Clary is a teenager who lives her everyday life with her mom, her moms best friend Luke, and her own best friend Simon. The only unusual thing about her life would be her father who died in a car crash a month prior to her birth. Suddenly, one day her mother decides she's moving Clary, herself, and Luke to a farmhouse far far away for "vacation" she calls it. Clary has no idea that this connects to the creatures she can she but no one else can. Suddenly she's thrown into a world filled with demons, vampires, werewolves, evil warlocks, and magic that can't be undone. What happens to Clary in this twisted world? Read it to find out.

This book is honestly amazing. There's romance and adventure all tied up making it irresistible. Any teen or pre teen would fall in love with this series and grow fond for the characters. It makes you think and try to click missing pieces of Clary's life together especially when they don't fit! It's an amazing book to just read for fun and the twists and turns make you crave more and more.

"City of Bones" by Cassandra Clare is a adventurous and mysterious novel. Clary Fray is learning strange and dangerous things about herself and her family. She learns that she is descended by a long line of Shadowhunters. After Clary learns this news, her mother gets abducted. Clary befriends a Shadowhunter, Jace, in which she soon falls in love with after. With the help of Jace and his fellow Shadowhunters, Clary must find and protect her mother.

In my opinion, this book was very interesting to read and I could not stop reading. The book is filled with excitement, adventure, romance, and mystery. The novel has many twists and turns that I wasn't expecting at all making it a fantastic book. I think people aged thirteen and above would greatly enjoy reading this book. However, the book has a supernatural themed genre therefore, if you do not enjoy that type of story I would definitely not recommend this book for you.

The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare is a thrilling novel filled with adventure, mystery, and romance. The main character, Clary Fray is out with her friend Simon at the Pandemonium Club in New York City. She notices a group of three people that look out of the ordinary, who apparently, Simon, cannot see. Thinking that this was just a mere imagination, she carries on with her night. The next day she comes home to a startling scene; her apartment is completely destroyed and her mother is missing. The same man, who she had seen the previous night at the club, rushes into her apartment and says that Clary is in danger and takes her to his house, forever changing Clary’s life. She finds out that Jace, the strange man, is a Shadowhunter who are warriors that dedicate their lives to keeping the Shadow world safe. Clary embarks on a wild adventure with Jace and the other Shadowhunters to find her mom, while learning about the secret Shadow world.

This book is one of my favorites. It provides the reader with more than enough action, adventure, comedy, and romance to keep them engaged throughout the entire novel. There was never a dull moment and the author kept me hooked throughout the book. In every chapter there would be a scene that was filled with action and made the reader wish that the Shadow world is actually real. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about adventure and romance.
