In the second book of The Mortal Instruments series, City of Ashes, by Cassandra Clare, Clary is lost and confused and wishing she could have her old life back. But now she knows she was a Shadowhunteer who has just found her amazing long-lost brother who will possible do anything to help their father, Valentine, who is crazy, evil. The battle for love and power is on in this completely different world that she grew up in. Now everything has changed for her mostly because now she can see all the Downworlders like the werewolves, vampires, and faeries and her mother is in a magical coma. Clary's best friend who she needs for support wants to be more that friends? And Valentine is running lose in New York City causing major chaos for everyone especially herself nd Jace, her brother. Can she help her mother, Jace, and still stop Valentine?
I really enjoyed this book because of all the drama and the magical amazement with uniqueness. I think anyone who enjoys reading about magical mysterious romances will extremely like this series. This book will make you feel like if you wish you were part of the book. I would give it five stars out of five. It can blow your mind away and get you caught up in all the dangerous fantasy.

Clary's world has been turned upside down since she found out she was a Shadowhunter. It seems that she cannot catch a break, with her mother in a magically induced coma, and her best friend, Simon, harboring feelings for her for years. As Simon and her grow closer than before, Clary becomes conflicted with the love she has for her newly discovered brother, Jace. However this love triangle is not her main concern, as it becomes apparent that the only way to save her mother is to find her estranged and evil father, Valentine. Follow Clary on this exciting journey filled with romance, suspense and the supernatural.

The second of a three part series, City of Ashes picks up with the after effects of City of Bones. Conflicting emotions play a huge role, as Clary struggles with her new relationship with her best friend, which would be perfect, if she didn't harbor feelings for her brother. A very odd love triangle, you can't say it doesn't lack originality albeit being quite gross. But the romance is not the interesting part, as Clary discovers more and more about the supernatural along her journey to save her mother. The plot is well thought out, each situation affected the next, and it will keep readers turning the page. Overall, I recommend this to readers who enjoy suspenseful novels.

Clary just wishes her life will go back to normal. But what really is normal when you are now part of life full of demon slaying shadowhunters and now you know that faeries, werewolves, and vampires are real. Can she ever truly go back? If she did leave it all behind it would mean she could spend more time with simon who is now showing that he likes her more than a friend and is calling her his girlfriend. But the shadowhunter world isn't letting her escape especially her new found handsome brother Jace and her only way to wake her mom from this coma is to find rogue shadowhunter, Valentine who is insane, evil and her father.

This book brought me back into the shadowhunter world again and I loved every second of it. I loved that we started to see some really good sides to The Lightwoods and it kinda made me like them a lot more. I am a huge fan of these characters and the journey we are taking with them so this book will obviously will bring me insane joy every second of the way. I loved seeing jace and clary again even though they are supposed to be brother and sister now I will always love seeing them together. I cant wait to read the next one. I feel someone who would enjoy reading this book is someone who loves adventure, romance, and some comedy mixed into it.
