Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams, is about an Earthling and aliens traveling the universe. One day, Arthur Dent, the Earthling, hears that his house is going to be cleared away in order to create a bypass on the Earth. Coincidently, Vogons, aliens from far away, are planning to demolish Earth to create a bypass in the universe. Few seconds before the Earth is destroyed, Arthur is saved by his alien friend, Ford Prefect, who is a researcher for the revised edition of The Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy. By Ford’s hitchhiking skills, Arthur and Ford are picked up by a Vogon spaceship. Vogons hated hitchhikers, so they throw them out in the universe. When Arthur and Ford are about to die, Heart of Gold, another spaceship, picks them up fortunately. In the Heart of Gold, Arthur and Ford meet Zaphod Beeblebrox, the two-headed president of the galaxy, Trillion, Zaphod’s girlfriend, and Marvin, a depressed robot. All together, they take a journey to find out the answer of life, the universe, and everything. Also, they find out why Earth was made. To find out the answers read the book! It is time worth reading, especially for those who love science fiction and humor. You won’t be able to let go of the book when you start reading.

In the book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Arthur Dent is the sole human survivor after Earth's destruction. He manages to escape Earth in time with the help of a friend named, Ford Prefect. Ford is not a human, but in fact a humanoid alien who has been researching Earth for, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," which is basically an encyclopedia for the Universe. He chose Arthur specifically because he has the answer to life somewhere inside his brain. Read about their adventures through space and see if they find out the answer to life and the universe.

This book by Douglas Adams is one of the most interesting things anyone will ever read. Douglas Adams does so well in describing the atmosphere, you'll feel like your really in a spaceship or on a planet in a galaxy far, far away. With tons of humor and Adam's style of writing, the book can get a little crazy at times, but that's what makes it one of a kind! I would recommend this book to anyone that is a teen and up, because the book includes many parts of the plot that appear as subtle details, but later on, play a major role, and you'd have to fully understand sarcasm to really enjoy the book.

Arthur Dent wakes up on a regular morning to discover that his house is about to be demolished. He immediately takes action by lying down right in front of the bulldozer. His friend, Ford Prefect, walks up to him and tells him to come with him the the pub. Ford eventually convinces Arthur to come with him. At the pub Ford tells Arthur that he is an alien from Betelgeuse and, the Earth is going to be destroyed. Ford and Arthur both leave the Earth's surface to go hitchhiking across the galaxy discovering so many things including the answer to life the universe and everything.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is an amazing book that is great for all ages. It gives the perspective of an odd universe through the eyes of an ordinary person. I have read the rest of the series and all of the other books are really good and have amazing twists that nobody would ever imagine.
