A Walk to Remember - movie review

This movie, based on the book by Nicholas Sparks, is about Landon, the popular guy in school, falling in love with Jaime, the religious, good girl in school. He learns that she has Leukemia, which leads to a lot of very heartwarming and very sad things. This movie always makes me cry because of the sweet things Landon does for Jaime, her state of health, and how much more caring and a better person Landon becomes because of her. I would recommend this movie to anyone. - Reviewed by Katrina, grade 11. .

In the novel A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, Landon Carter has a reputation of being a reckless, popular boy at school who is just trying to get by in life. He lives in a small, religious town Beaufort, North Carolina. Coming from a broken home, he develops a mask where he does not care about anything or anyone, but in reality he cares too much about the way people look at him. Tensions build up between him and his stepfather and his stepfather encourages him to do better. Landon finally agrees to participate in school events in which he meets Jamie Sullivan the minister's daughter. Landon ends up being in a play with her and their relationship starts to grow from there. He is at first embarassed to be part of the play and doesn't want his friends to know what he has been up to. Landon walks Jamie home one day like he normally did but runs into his friends. Ashamed, he completey denies having any friendship with Jamie. However, when the play is being performed he realizes how beautiful Jamie is and starts to fall in love with her. He finally gains the courage to stand up for her and be by her side despite what his friends think. After that obstacle, all seems well. However, will this young couple in love be ready for the hurdles up ahead?

This book is an all time favorite book of many people including me. The book deserves a 5 out of 5 because it portrays the intimate love that two people can share. It was also made into a movie and the movie was well-known in its time. I recommend this book to those who would want to continue to read one of Sparks' greatest works.

I really liked this book a lot. At first, it was kind of boring to me. But once I got more into the story, it was amazing! The ending was shocking and so sad! I would recommend this to those who like romance novels. It was a great book and I was so in love with it that I just had to read it again. But nothing compares to the first time you read it. I loved reading this book because it made me feel like I was one of the characters, I felt like I was in the actual story!

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks is a love story between a socially awkward girl and a popular boy. Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan were strangers until Landon because student body president and is required to go to homecoming. Landon doesn't know what girl to ask so he asks Jamie Sullivan. After they go to the dance together, Jamie wants Landon to join the school play, "A Christmas Angel." Landon agrees so they start spending more time together. Landon and Jamie start falling in love slowly but something comes up that changes their lives together.

I really enjoyed reading this "A Walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks. I liked how there was a plot twist that changed both their lives forever. This book had the classic "popular boy falls for loner girl" with a twist. I found this book a little confusing at first because it started out with Landon explaining about his life so I didn't know if it was present day or not. Overall, I liked this book and would recommend it to teenagers and adults that enjoy love stories.
