Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
Iron
Flame is the second book in the Empyrean series, following Fourth Wing. It´s
about Violet Sorrengail´s second year at Basgiath War College, which is
basically a school for dragon riders where everything is trying to kill you.
The stakes are way higher in this one because she´s not just trying to survive
her classes anymore, shes uncovering secrets about the government and a war
that´s been hidden for centuries. It´s got a lot of action, and some pretty
intense plot twists.
I really
liked Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros because it didn´t have that second book slump you see in a lot
of series. Violet is such a cool main character because she isn´t the strongest
physically, but she uses her brain to outsmart people who are twice her size.
The ending of the first book left off on a huge cliffhanger, and this book
picks up right there and keeps the energy up.
