Dracula, by Bram Stoker
Before the Twilight series, there was Dracula by Bram Stoker. This novel essentially started pop culture's obsession with the mysterious, sultry creatures known as vampires. Count Dracula, the infamous vampire, is responsible for many deaths all over Europe, and usually uses his power through money to keep himself away from trouble. However, when a group of young English men and women, led by Professor Abraham van Helsing, catch on to what Dracula is doing, his efforts are suddenly threatened. Read the novel to find out how the battle between humans and vampires ends up and if Dracula does indeed get away with his horrendous crimes!
I enjoyed reading Dracula by Bram Stoker, but to be honest, the book was a little hard to get through at times. Written in 1897, the wording of the novel is a bit more challenging than modern-day reads, and Bram Stoker does take quite a while to get to the point. Regardless, it is really an interesting book, and a great read for anyone looking for a timeless classic with a bit of horror, adventure, and thrill.

The book is all about a young solicitor named Jonathan Harker that wants to sell a house to Dracula, a nobleman, in Transylvania. Soon , he realized that Dracula is a vampire. The vampaire keeps Harker in his house or castle and travels to England. The Dracula bites Lucy Westenra and she becomes vampire like him. The next victim is Harker's wife, Mina. Harker and another character in the book, both try to stop Dracula. Finally, they discover and destroy all of the boxes, totaling fifty, that those boxes have been shipped back to the castle of Dracula. They do everything possible to locate Dracula in Transylvania. After overcoming the group of gypsies, they destroy the last box, and with a huge thrust, Jonathan cuts the Dracula's head, and the knife goes deep into the heart of the vampire by Morris. The Dracula fights back to stay alive, but he crumbles into dust, but can't survive. Also, Morris dies at the end of the book. He was badly wounded by the gypsies.
I always wanted to read the "Dracula" by Bram Stoker. When I was in Junior High, I was scarred to read the book . Now, in High School, I finally read the book and finished it and enjoyed it.The characters are fantastic and the plot is interesting. The book goes pretty fast as you read and the time passes by quickly. I honestly think that all 9th graders like me, would love this book. It is not scary after all, at least that is my view; this book opened up my thinking ability towards fictions. I would love to more books like "Dracula". I will recommend this book to my classmates. I believe they will enjoy it the way I did. Because the book is written in 1897, that also makes you interested to read the book, because it is interesting to know how authors , such as Bram Stoker, could come up with such a genius. I assume this book is much read across the world, perhaps in different languages, other than English. Bottom line, I would definitely recommend this book to my classmates and friends.

The version of Dracula that I read was a graphic novel. I liked the art and how each character looked like. Also, the story was entertaining and exciting. It is not one of those Dracula stories that make readers bored. The more interesting part was at the end of the book, there was a page about the history of real Dracula and where he comes from. Moreover, this book includes a short explanation of Bram Stoker's life and how he wrote this book. I believe that this book would be so entertaining for teenagers. It keeps them entertained and excited during each event. I really recommend this graphic novel to those teenagers that are really into vampire stories and I hope they would enjoy reading it.
