The Sea of Monsters, by Rick Riordan

The Sea of Monsters, by Rick Riordan, is the second book of the exciting Percy Jackson series. Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon, returns once again to battle against the Titans and mythological monsters. Percy Jackson's seventh grade had been unusually uneventful, a first in all of Percy's years in school life. He also made a new, though unpopular, friend whose name is Tyson. However, as soon as the peaceful seventh grade seems to come to an end, monsters once again started to attack Percy. After Annabeth saves him, he is once again brought to Camp Half Blood, a camp specifically made for training and protecting demigods - or children of gods and mortals. However, the camp which was originally thought to be safe was under attack. After finding out that the magical borders of the camp had been weakened, Percy Jackson once again prepares to save Camp Half Blood and his friends from being overrun by monsters.
This book was a very entertaining read as it is a great story. As the book is part of an exciting series, I admit having trouble letting the book go in order to do other things. This book is a relatively good book though I enjoyed this less than the other books in this series. Although this book may be less exciting than the other books, it is a must-read if you want to understand and enjoy the rest of the series. I recommend this book to kids and teens alike.

Camp Half-Blood faces a big problem. One day they are attacked and the barrier tree, Thalia, is poisoned. The trio (Percy, Annabeth, and Grover) find out a way to cure Thalia. They need to retrieve the Golden Fleece, its power can revive anything. They set out on their quest to look for the Fleece. Along the way they face many obstacles. Grover even has to pretend to be a female cyclops so he won't be eaten by cyclops that guards the Fleece. Once they fought their way around, they got the Fleece and cured Thalia.

I am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series. Riordan incorporates Greek mythology and creates a story line that keeps readers craving more. This book has a bit of everything: love, adventure, action, and mystery. I encourage people to read the book because it is such a great novel. If you love the Harry Potter series, Divergent, and The Hunger Games I'm sure you will love this book too.

The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan is the second book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. When Percy returns to Camp-Half Blood, which is constantly under attack, with his half- brother Tyson. While at camp, he receives a dream about Grover who asks for Percy to save him from the cyclops, Polyphemus, who has him trapped in a cave in the Sea of Monsters. Clarisse, Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson are sent on a quest to save Grover and find the Golden Fleece which will save the camp from monster attacks.

Like every books sequel, The Sea of Monsters had much expectation to live up to. I was slightly disappointed by how slowly the book progressed, but right when the book picked up speed, it continued to be amazing! The end of the novel left me wanting to continue the series as soon as I possibly could. I loved the book and the plot twists that came with it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes greek mythology or fantasy books.

On a school day Percy gets attacked by monsters and Tyson his stepbrother saves him. Annabeth takes Percy and Tyson to camp half blood. The camp is being attacked by bulls. Thalias tree gets poisoned. Percy has been having nightmares about Grover being held captive. Annabeth tells him that Grover has found the golden fleece which will cure the poisoned tree. On a quest Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson are led to a ship called the Princess Andromeda. They later find out that the ship is owned by the titan army. They quickly escape. Then Clarisse finds them and they board on her battleship. It is attacked by two monsters and the ship goes down. Predicting that Tyson and Clarisse are dead they find land. They then reunite on land together. They rescue Grover and find the golden fleece.

This book was one of the most amazing books I have ever read. This is my favorite episode of Percy Jackson. It makes you want to know what happened was Grover captured by a monster? I think anybody who likes action and monsters. This book made me feel sad at some points when I thought that Tyson and Clarisse actually died. It also made me feel happy because after it said that Tyson and Clarisse were alive. This book can also be good for people who likes mysteries. This book gives a lot of mysteries like how did Percy get all these dreams about Grover being held captive? Why did Annabeth tell him that he had found the golden fleece even though Tyson, Clarisse, Annabeth, and Percy found it on their quest. The part i did bot like was the part where the tree was poisoned and monsters attacked camp half blood. My favorite part was finding the golden fleece on their quest.

This book is based on Greek Mythology due to today's modern world. This is of course the second book to Rick's collection and the first one is "The Lighting Thief". Percy Jackson (main character) is half human and half god. He is the son of Poseidon, after spending his first summer at Camp Half Blood he came back home to a new school. He never lasted at the same school because of he was .On the last day of his school year things were going wrong at Camp Half Blood and he was in trouble as well..thanks to some monsters. Percy and Annabeth end up coming to camp with Tyson ( Percy's good and weird friend). When they arrived they discovered some dirty truth on they really were and they were on their mission to fix their problems. The difference between the second book is that they are on a quest searching for a cure/solution to their problems (also to rescue a certain someone). This book answers and reveals the story behind Percy and the gods itself. On their quest they face difficult obstacles, so difficult it determines death. The story goes on about their journey and then the third book begins based on a big surprise they reveal.

I absolutely love this book. I really enjoy Greek Mythology and could not put this book down. I recommend it to anyone and especially history lovers and people who also like Greek Mythology.I liked how it used things from the past and made it more modern. When I finished reading the second book and found out about a big surprise they revealed I wanted to start reading the next book. Its just fascinating when they talk about the god's background and how they came to be, and have children of course! The gods in the Greek Mythology we read, never mentions any children, so the author really takes it to the next level. So please go check it out, you will not regret it. The book is fun and educational at the same time. I personally wished I was reading these books when I was younger but I wasn't much of a reader back then.

The Sea of Monsters, by Rick Riordan, is a fictional book based on Greek Mythology. It starts off in New York at a prep-school campus that the main character, Percy Jackson is attending. Percy Jackson is playing a game of dodgeball during PE when all of a sudden, a group of his fellow classmates transform into a gang of cannibal giants. A simple game of dodgeball suddenly turns into a death match for Percy Jackson as he fights for his life. He escapes with a friend of his, Tyson, and unexpectedly meets Annabeth, one of Percy's friends. She tells him about how the magical borders protecting Camp Half-Blood, a camp for Demigods like Percy, has been poisoned. If they can't find a cure then the one and only safe place for the Demigods will be destroyed, leaving them hopeless and unsafe. He and his friends go to Camp Half-Blood only to see it being attacked by two mechanical bulls. They save the camp with the help of Tyson, who was found to be a Cyclopes, but the problem of the magical border still lingers. Percy and a couple of his other friends are given a quest to go and save Camp Half-Blood. And now they must go into the Sea of Monsters to find a cure that will restore the magical border of their camp.

I thought that this book was decent. I think this book is meant more for younger teens or pre-teens. I liked some of the sarcastic humor in this book which made me grin once in a while reading the book. What I really enjoy about this book though, is that you could learn a lot about Greek Mythology. I didn't know a single thing about any of the greek gods or the relationships between them till I read this book. It provides a lot of information in an entertaining way.

Percy Jackson’s satyr friend Grover, got captured and Percy goes on a quest to save him. He learns that he’s trapped in an island inside a place called the Sea of Monsters. Annabeth Chase, a friend of his and a daughter of Athena, comes along with him so that he wouldn’t face it alone. Together they try to find and rescue their friend from the dangers lurking in the Sea of Monsters, before it’s too late.

There are many reasons why I like this book and one of them is that this book especially, has so many references to The Odyssey. It actually helps me learn the material as well as making it entertaining and fun to read. Also, I love how the characters are entirely unique and one character isn’t like another. I would definitely recommend this to all ages because it’s honestly such an amazing book that I think it can hook anyone in.

It’s Percy’s second year at Camp Half-Blood, and things are not going too well. The tree that ensures the safety of the camp has been poisoned, and one of Percy’s best friends is in danger. With the help of Annabeth and a new addition to his family, Percy embarks on another quest. On this journey, Percy encounters Luke, who is plotting an evil return of the Titan Kronos. It is a race to get to the mythological Golden Fleece, but will Percy and his friends get there in time?

After finishing the first book in the series, I’ve been hooked. I managed to finish the second novel in a matter of hours and the author does not disappoint. I’ve mentioned this before, but reading Greek myths set in the modern world is honestly an amazingly nostalgic experience. I get to a part in the book where a mythological item or creature is mentioned and I do a little “Hey I know that story!” Aside from the educational aspect of the series, one cannot help but love the characters. Each has their own unique personality and faults that keep a reader engaged in the story. It doesn’t matter what age you are, reading this series will give you just the type of entertainment you didn’t know you needed.
