Dog Days, by Jeff Kinney

Dog Days, by Jeff Kinney, is about Greg trying to live his summer vacation fantasy but it seems as if everyone was against him. Well his view of having the best summer ever is to stay inside with the curtain shut and playing video games. But Greg's Mom has different things in mind because she wants to spend the summer by spending some time with the family. Greg and Rowley came up with a business to pay a debt at the country club. They had a fight and they stopped being friends because of it. So then Greg was forced to go places where he didn't really want to go which was going to the town pool and family reunions because he didn't have anything better to do. Every chance he had he tried to make the best of it.

This book might not be my grade level but I think that these books have something that you can relate to you. I would recommend this book to teen readers because it's an easy book and also by reading the book they will also get a good laugh out of the book.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days by Jeff Kinney is about the problems a middle school kid named Greg Heffley encounters and how he solves them. In the summer, all he wants to do is stay inside and play video games. His mom refuses to let him stay inside all summer. As a result, she makes Greg go to the pool with his little brother, Manny, and her. The only reason he goes to the pool is to hang out with a girl named Heather Hills. Then, Greg starts going to the country club with Rowley. At the country club, they always get smoothies. When Rowley's father recieves a bill for $83 worth of smoothies, Greg is not allowed to come to the country club with them. In order to pay off the bill, Greg and Rowley start a lawn service. Then, Rowley bails out, making Greg do all the work to pay off Rowley's father.`

In my opinion, this edition of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series wasn't that bad. In this book, I could relate to many things, including wanting to stay in all summer long. One part that intrigued me was when Rowley's father received the bill for the smoothies. I thought it wasn't going to be that much.I was shocked to find out that the total cost of all the smoothies they bought was $83. In my head, I asked, " How are they going to pay for this bill?" My question was answered when they started a lawn service. I recommend this book to everyone that has read the other Diary of a Wimpy Kid books.
