Wild Bird, by Wendelin Van Draaanen
Growing up trying to make good decisions is hard, especially for Wren Clemmens, who's on the wrong path with bad "friends"- One night, as Wren was asleep after a hang-over, a police officer took her away to an 8-week Wilderness Therapy Camp sent by her parents to help Wren from all the bad decisions she's making and to help her prevent Juvie, where Wilderness Therapy Camp is her last chance from ending up in Juvie.
The first time I read Wild Bird, by Wendelin Van Draaanen, I was barely entering Middle School. I was still unaware of how bad friends and bad decisions can ruin your future and life. After re-reading it again, I understood that having to send her away is your child's last resource. I recommend it for Middle Schoolers or Tweens/Teens adapting and still growing. This book is excellent for viewing "growing up" from a different perspective as well-
