Abuela, Don't Forget Me, by Rex Ogle

The book's author, Rex Ogle, shares his memories from a young boy to an adult, talking about how his abuela was the only person who ever truly cared about his feelings and what he wanted. Unfortunately, his abuela suffers from dementia (a condition, common with older people, where one starts to forget their memories and how to do basic tasks) which makes her forget about all she did for her grandson. Rex keeps his memories in the book to tell them again to his abuela.

I like this book because it has emotion. When reading Abuela, Don't Forget Me, by Rex Ogle, you can feel how everyone in the book treats the author throughout his childhood. It also is compressed into vignettes (short passages about a subject in great detail) which makes each story short to read. I think anyone can read this book and enjoy it for the message it conveys. The message is "The will be one person to tell you to follow your passions and what you want for life".
