The Sea of Monsters, by Rick Riordan
The Sea of Monsters, by Rick Riordan, is the second book of the exciting Percy Jackson series. Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon, returns once again to battle against the Titans and mythological monsters. Percy Jackson's seventh grade had been unusually uneventful, a first in all of Percy's years in school life. He also made a new, though unpopular, friend whose name is Tyson. However, as soon as the peaceful seventh grade seems to come to an end, monsters once again started to attack Percy. After Annabeth saves him, he is once again brought to Camp Half Blood, a camp specifically made for training and protecting demigods - or children of gods and mortals. However, the camp which was originally thought to be safe was under attack. After finding out that the magical borders of the camp had been weakened, Percy Jackson once again prepares to save Camp Half Blood and his friends from being overrun by monsters.
This book was a very entertaining read as it is a great story. As the book is part of an exciting series, I admit having trouble letting the book go in order to do other things. This book is a relatively good book though I enjoyed this less than the other books in this series. Although this book may be less exciting than the other books, it is a must-read if you want to understand and enjoy the rest of the series. I recommend this book to kids and teens alike.

I am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series. Riordan incorporates Greek mythology and creates a story line that keeps readers craving more. This book has a bit of everything: love, adventure, action, and mystery. I encourage people to read the book because it is such a great novel. If you love the Harry Potter series, Divergent, and The Hunger Games I'm sure you will love this book too.

Like every books sequel, The Sea of Monsters had much expectation to live up to. I was slightly disappointed by how slowly the book progressed, but right when the book picked up speed, it continued to be amazing! The end of the novel left me wanting to continue the series as soon as I possibly could. I loved the book and the plot twists that came with it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes greek mythology or fantasy books.

This book was one of the most amazing books I have ever read. This is my favorite episode of Percy Jackson. It makes you want to know what happened was Grover captured by a monster? I think anybody who likes action and monsters. This book made me feel sad at some points when I thought that Tyson and Clarisse actually died. It also made me feel happy because after it said that Tyson and Clarisse were alive. This book can also be good for people who likes mysteries. This book gives a lot of mysteries like how did Percy get all these dreams about Grover being held captive? Why did Annabeth tell him that he had found the golden fleece even though Tyson, Clarisse, Annabeth, and Percy found it on their quest. The part i did bot like was the part where the tree was poisoned and monsters attacked camp half blood. My favorite part was finding the golden fleece on their quest.

I absolutely love this book. I really enjoy Greek Mythology and could not put this book down. I recommend it to anyone and especially history lovers and people who also like Greek Mythology.I liked how it used things from the past and made it more modern. When I finished reading the second book and found out about a big surprise they revealed I wanted to start reading the next book. Its just fascinating when they talk about the god's background and how they came to be, and have children of course! The gods in the Greek Mythology we read, never mentions any children, so the author really takes it to the next level. So please go check it out, you will not regret it. The book is fun and educational at the same time. I personally wished I was reading these books when I was younger but I wasn't much of a reader back then.

I thought that this book was decent. I think this book is meant more for younger teens or pre-teens. I liked some of the sarcastic humor in this book which made me grin once in a while reading the book. What I really enjoy about this book though, is that you could learn a lot about Greek Mythology. I didn't know a single thing about any of the greek gods or the relationships between them till I read this book. It provides a lot of information in an entertaining way.

There are many reasons why I like this book and one of them is that this book especially, has so many references to The Odyssey. It actually helps me learn the material as well as making it entertaining and fun to read. Also, I love how the characters are entirely unique and one character isn’t like another. I would definitely recommend this to all ages because it’s honestly such an amazing book that I think it can hook anyone in.

After finishing the first book in the series, I’ve been hooked. I managed to finish the second novel in a matter of hours and the author does not disappoint. I’ve mentioned this before, but reading Greek myths set in the modern world is honestly an amazingly nostalgic experience. I get to a part in the book where a mythological item or creature is mentioned and I do a little “Hey I know that story!” Aside from the educational aspect of the series, one cannot help but love the characters. Each has their own unique personality and faults that keep a reader engaged in the story. It doesn’t matter what age you are, reading this series will give you just the type of entertainment you didn’t know you needed.
