Strong world-building with court politics and secrets. Twists are frequent and shocking, especially late. Early pacing is slow, but it pays off. Control, identity, and fate are thoughtfully examined. This slow-burn fantasy with strong heroines and high stakes is great, and the cliffhanger will leave you wanting more, and was enjoyable.
